Orange Sunrises
I've been noticing sunrises on my drive into work this past week (Hmmm, could it be due to Daylight Savings Time? UGH) The colors are vibrant and delicate and serene. I have been inspired to work in oranges and yellows. Today, I think I'll add purple (for the mountains). Wonder what the result will be?

Ahhhhhh.... Spring....
Today I saw, are you sitting down? DAFFODIL greenery! Yes, it's true, Spring has returned to Central VA! Now, according to The Farmer's Almanac we still have a whopper of a storm coming, but WOO HOO! I saw DAFFODIL greenery!
Read along with me:
Spring has sprung.
The grass is riz'
I wonders where
the posies is...
My Aunt Bess taught me that 45 years ago. Sitting on her lap in her kitchen, I announced I needed to memorize a poem for school. She taught me that poem and I've never forgotten it. I've also never forgotten the beauty of Spring. This northern girl loves Fall, but Spring, after a long Winter is, well, SPRING!!!!!
AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Monday, Monday....
Remember the Mamas and the Papas? "Monday, Monday"? The lyrics claimed the lyricist couldn't stand Mondays. I like Mondays. They're new. They're fresh. They're a new beginning of unlimited potential.
Candles are like that. I love pouring the wax, allowing it to harden, and taking it out of the mold to discover.... well, whatever comes out. Sometimes the result is great. Other times, well...
the result...
is ugly. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY ugly. But I still love it. I created it.

Outta My Mouth
I am so excited! I had my first online candle order yesterday. WOOT!
Candle-making grew out of my love of candles. Candle selling grew out of having way too many candles in my house. I love the creative process and, well, just got carried away. I gave away as many as I could. Really, I did.
Take a look at some of my favorite creations
These are my "Sunrise/Sunset" candles. The center candle is based on a pre-SuperBowl coverage look at a sunrise over New Orleans. The right candle is based on a Central Virginia sunset. I just like the left one. HA!
